Dogs have lived with and worked with humans in so many roles that their loyalty and devotion has earned them our love and friendship. Sometimes man’s bestfriend just want a warm and safe place to curl up and nap. And don’t they deserve it?
Different kinds of dog beds are now available in the market today. They come in all sizes, shapes, colors and materials. Certainly, you have a lot of options: big, small, round, rectangular, colored, patterned, custom and even luxury and designer dog beds. It is up to you to choose the best dog bed that fits the size and needs of your dog. Just always consider the comfort of your dog just as you would if you are buying bed for yourself.
The first thing to consider in choosing a dog bed is the size. Large dogs obviously need large dog beds. You also have to consider where your dog prefers to sleep. If he/she prefers to sleep on the floor then hard dog bed is just right. If he/she prefers to sleep on the sofa then he/she needs a soft dog bed. You should also decide on the right shape for the dog bed. Dogs that like curling up should have a curved dog bed while dogs that like better spreading out deserves a rectangular dog bed. If the dog desires to be above the floor, consider a raised dog bed. Special orthopedic beds are also available for old, arthritic and ill dogs and heated dog beds that keep the dog warm and comfy for those winter seasons. Over time, dog beds wear out and bed padding thins. Make sure you get a material that can withstand at least a decent amount of time.
Whichever dog bed you choose for your dog, the most important thing is that you choose a dog bed that confirms to the latest health and safety standards. Don’t compromise the comfort of your dog for cheaper priced dog beds. Also see to it that you choose a dog bed that is fully washable or at least has a removable washable cover to keep your dog’s bed fresh and clean.
